The guest of honour presents a donation to an orphan.
Tutong 29th August - Tutong's Keriam Malay Association (PESAKA) with the cooperation of the Keriam Village Consultative Council and the takmir committee members of the Keriam Mosque held a ceremony, which saw orphans and special needs individuals of the Keriam Village receive donations.
The guest of honour at the event, which took place in the morning, was the Tutong District Assistant Officer, Abd Ghani bin Haji Othman, who presented donations to 17 orphans and special needs individuals. Also present was Legislative Council member and Penghulu of Mukim Keriam, Yang Berhormat Orang Kaya Jaya Putera Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Taha bin Abd Rauf.
Another event that took place in the afternoon commenced with surah al-fatihah, followed by surah yaasiin and a tahlil led by Imam Haji Mohd Kartolo bin Haji Abang of the Keriam Mosque.
In his welcoming speech, Chairman Ustaz Noralizam bin Haji Idris said that the gathering was held to express gratitude to PESAKA and residents of the Keriam Village for their contribution in helping the less fortunate and he also hoped that such deeds would continue, especially in light of the upcoming Hari Raya celebrations.
